USA:David Meister to host first annual Designs for 'pink tie' gala

Susan G. Komen Los Angeles announced that esteemed American fashion designer David Meister will host the first annual Designs for the Cure Gala at the Bel-Air Bay Club Friday, Oct. 28, from 6 p.m. to midnight. In partnership with the Otis College of Art and Design, the “pink tie” gala will bring together the world of fashion, celebrities and cancer survivors to raise funds for breast cancer screening, education, treatment and research.

The event will feature a celeb-studded pink carpet, cocktail reception, dinner, and fabulous silent and live auctions featuring one-of-a-kind experiences and items generously donated by supporters. Music and entertainment for the evening will be provided by DJ Timbo, one of the most popular DJs on the West Coast, and Vox Lumiere, a highly acclaimed Los Angeles theater production company that combines live music and dance performances against a backdrop of classic silent films.

Susan G. Komen Los Angeles has been named a top-rated charity by Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent evaluator of charities, for a second year in a row. Over the past 15 years, the Komen Los Angeles County Affiliate has raised over $8.9 million to provide community-based grants to local organizations providing breast cancer screening, education, and treatment services and to help fund national breast cancer research programs.
