USA:Designers to put fashion spotlight at Fashion In Detroit

 


Fashion In Detroit (FID) - Michigan's premier fashion event - announced its designer lineup made up of prestigious national designers, up and coming local designers, plus the very best of Michigan's fashion students.

Day 1: Schott NYC - Joe Faris, Kevan Hall, Student Show, Dana Keaton, Marlaina Stone and P.S. by Peter Soronen

Day 2: North Beach Leather - Joe Faris, MYNT 1792 - Kevin Christiana, Carhartt, Femilia Couture, Betsey Johnson, Made In Detroit - Kid Rock

Tickets are on sale now at www.fashionindetroit.com. A one-day pass is $75 for six runway shows, a souvenir lookbook, gift bag and eligibility for high-end giveaways. AfterGlow tickets are also on sale for $50 and include three bands, including headliner Dirty Americans (www.roadrunnerrecords.com/Artists/DirtyAmericans), plus aerial yoga shows by Detroit Flyhouse (www.detroitflyhouse.com) and appetizers and desserts from some of metro Detroit's top restaurants. AfterGlow takes place 8 p.m.-2 a.m., Friday, Oct. 2 at Stage 3 Productions, a 40,000 square foot film studio in Warren, Michigan.

Fashion In Detroit is a biannual, two-day fashion event created by Project Runway's Joe Faris to put a fashion spotlight on Michigan and create a venue that fills the needs of many locally based designers and the Michigan fashion community. The first FID event will take place October 1 & 2, 2009 in a tented, high-end setting at the Detroit Zoo, in Royal Oak, Michigan.

Situated between the dates of New York Fashion Week and LA Fashion Week, Fashion In Detroit will feature top models showcasing the best designs of Spring/Summer 2010 on a 60-foot runway in a spacious tent with VIP seating, risers and standing room for 500 buyers, fashion industry insiders and VIP guests each day.
