India:FDCI hosts model auditions for WIFW SS/ 2010

 


Fashion Design Council of India(FDCI) hosted the model auditions for the coveted Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer2010, the biggest business of fashion event in India. The auditions were held to identify and select 13 models out of 48 models who will walk the ramp for the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2010 to be held in New Delhi from October 24-28, 2009 at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

Jury Members included renowned designers – Anjana Bhargava, Namrata Joshipura and Rahul Khanna; Fashion Choreographers - Aparna Bahl; Senior Model – Laxmi Rana. The esteemed jury membersshortlisted future muses on several attributes, such as their confidence, poise, sense of carriage and perfect attitude to set the ramps ablaze at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2010.

Elaborating on the auditions, Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, “Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring/ Summer 2010 aims to be a platform that presents not just the best of the modelling industry on the runway, but at the same time,introducesand supports new talent. The jury is primed to identify and shortlist the best talent to walk the ramp and identify thefuture stars of the industry.”

Atul Chand, Divisional Chief Executive - ITC’s Lifestyle Retailing Business Divison, said ““The Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is a great platform to recognize and nurture emerging talent. It gives us great pleasure to see the enthusiastic response to the model auditions with fresh talent drawn from across the country. I am sure the new faces discoveredduring the auditions will go places.”

WIFW S/S вЂ10 will be held at the Pragati Maidan over a span of five action packed days, with eight shows each day, two ramps and over 100 stalls. WIFW S/S вЂ10 promises to exhibit the very best of Indian fashion industry under one roof at one point in time.
