India:Kusumgar inks MoU to promote technical textiles in Gujarat

Kusumgar Corporates of Mumbai, the Indian icon in technical and specialty textiles genre, that encompasses a wide spectrum of products and applications, is currently contemplating investment in Gujarat for the promotion of technical textile.

In this regard Kusumgar has sent a proposal for the new venture.

While interacting with Fibre2fashion.com, Mr Yogesh Kusumgar, CEO, Kusumgar Corporates told, “We will sign MoU with the Gujarat State Government during the forthcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Investors' Summit. The project is expected to start somewhere in August. In the first phase we will invest around Rs500 million.”

Mr Kusumgar further divulged, “In this project we will focus on manufacture of parachute fabric and technical textile related to military and non-military application. See we are well established in India and the global market has very good potential for the technical textiles. So we are planning to focus on both in domestic as well as international market.”

Mr Yogesh Kusumgar said that technical textile has a very bright future, however it is not easy to settledown in technical textile market. One has to pay attention to the system and planning of the business along with its product quality. Usually big units focus on a single market and that too at higher extent, in such situation there should be versatility in production as well as in marketing.

He added that in today’s scenario, Government should have pragmatic policy, it should also work on automation and computerisation of technical textile Industry.
