With this decision, the fair has met the requests of a large number of exhibiting companies for the fair to open on a Sunday, with a view to facilitating the attendance of members of the independent footwear trade. The new dates will also include two working days, thus catering for those professionals who prefer to visit the fair during the week.
In addition, at their respective meetings the Organising Committees at MODACALZADO and IBERPIEL expressed their satisfaction regarding the results achieved at the last edition, based on the participation of more than 300 exhibiting companies and 700 brands, similar figures to those achieved the previous September. The fair also welcomed some 10,644 professionals, a 5% increase compared to last March.
These visitors attended the event from more than 70 countries. The increase in visitors suggests an improved outlook for the next few seasons, as well as providing an unmistakeable sign of recovery within the industry. In this respect, MODACALZADO+IBERPIEL is considered to be the best indicator of the current state of health of these sectors in Spain.
Furthermore, the fair's September edition concluded with some reasonably satisfactory results from a trade point of view, with the majority of exhibitors managing to fulfil their expectations. Throughout the event's three-day duration, Feria de Madrid provided the ideal setting for trade professionals to discover the latest new ideas in footwear and accessories for next Spring-Summer 2011, based on the collections presented by a series of leading brands from the industry, such as Pons Quintana, Magrit, CastaГ±er, Pura LГіpez, Rebeca Sanver, Pikolinos, Hush Puppies, Callaghan and Mustang among others.
