Denmark:Colin McDowell rejoins Designers Nest

 


In collaboration with Penther/Formes Mannequins and Royal Copenhagen, the Designers' Nest Show and Award are here again to promote Scandinavian design talent at its best and present the award for Best New Talent with a cash prize of DKK 50,000.

This time around the student competitions will merge into one big show and will be held only on Saturday 13 February.

Again, designers from selected Scandinavian schools will be giventhe opportunity to showcase their graduate collections to the press and potential buyers at the CPH Vision Fair in Bygning 55.

As in previous years, an exhibition area will be made available for design students from the participating schools: Danmarks Designskole (Copenhagen), Designskolen (Kolding), TEKO(Herning), Beckmans Designskole (Stockholm), Swedish School of Textiles (BorГҐs), University of Art and Design (Helsinki), Iceland Academyof the Arts, ESMOD (Oslo).

At 3 pm on Saturday 13 February, graduate students from each school will participate in the Designers' Nest Show and Award, followed by the announcement of the winner and a reception hosted by Royal Copenhagen in the CPH Vision foyer.

The Designers' Nest Award is a collaboration with RoyalCopenhagen, this time based on the iconic figure of Isbjørnen - the polar bear - decorated with the Mussel Mega motif and hand -painted by artist Karen Kjældgård-Larsen. In addition to this exquisite work of art, the winner will receive a cash prize of DKK 50,000 and a one-year subscription WGSN.com, the global leader in style and fashion trend forecasting.

The winner will be handpicked by an eminent committee of Danish and international judges:
- Colin McDowell, Senior Fashion Writer for the Sunday Times and Founder of Fashion Fringe.
- Tom Steifel-Kristensen, Creative Director and Fashion Expert.
- Rachael Morgan, CEO, Patriksson Communication, and Creative Director, The Vision.
- Alice Leeburn, Style Editor, WGSN.
- Hector Castro, Fashion Editor, 10 Magazine.

High-resolution images and footage from both Designers' Nest and the CPH Vision Press Show and Terminal-2 Show will be uploaded to our ftp-server immediately after the shows.
