Aspiring models converged in the Capital on February 2, 2010 to be a part of this seasons "New Faces Going Places", as the Fashion Design Council of India hosted the national model auditions for Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW) A/W 2010.Now renowned for launching India's best known faces in the domestic and international modeling world, like Diana Penty, Monikangana Dutta and Ujwala Raut, these auditions aim to showcase the best talent on the ramp at the upcoming edition of WIFW slate next month.
The eminent jury consisted of Ashish Soni, Anjana Bhargav, Payal Jain, Vinod Nair, Niki Mahajan, Rahul Khanna, Asha Kochhar and Aparna Bahl.
After multiple selection rounds, the "New Faces Going Places"will be selected on the basis of how they rank on various parameters including poise, confidence and attitude. As has been the case every year, this promises to be a very competitive and exciting selection process.
For over a decade - Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) - India's apex fashion body has played an important role in promoting some of India's best young talent who have grown to become household names today. They range from apparel manufacturers, accessories manufacturers, models, makeup artists,hair stylists to choreographers, and the fashion media.
Model auditions for the WIFW are an integral part of this processof bringing novelty to the biggest trade event of the fashion industry as also creating new avenues for aspiring models - famedas 'New faces going places' subsequent to the selection process.
Sunil Sethi, President, FDCI said, "WIFW is committed to recognizing and promoting India's best talent in the fashion industry. We have scouted and nurtured some of India's best knownmodels and provided them with avenues for national and international exposure. As the country's largest fashion trade event, WIFW supports various stakeholders of the fashion industryincluding models, fashion photographers, choreographers, make-up artists etc. And new talent is critical to the evolution of this event."

Ashish Soni said, "At the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Model Auditions, we are looking for fresh faces with good height,personality and the right attitude to carry western as well as Indian silhouettes."
Anjana Bhargav said, "I am looking for models who have a fit body,right height and attitude to make an impression on theramp."
Payal Jain said, "I will be looking for someone with attitude, fitness and confidence."
Rahul Khanna said, "I will be looking out for height, walk, presence on the ramp and capability of carrying both Indian and western clothes."
Aparna Bahl said, "I am definitely looking for someone with a good height and skin. Moreover, I will try to choose the most versatile person who can fit well into the needs of all designers."
Niki Mahajan said, "I will be watching out for a fresh face with an unusual attitude."
Asha Kochhar said, "I am looking for someone with great height, good bone structure and versatility to carry Indian as well as Western clothes".
