Hong Kong Talent
Hong Kong, with its unique mix of Eastern and Western cultures, is Asia’s design hub. The city has a deep pool of design talent, inspired by the latest fashion trends and information from around the globe. Hong Kong designers have won numerous international awards over the years, gaining the respect of their counterparts all over the world.

The Style Hong Kong show will feature Lu Lu Cheung’s collection inspired by volcanic eruptions. The designer has chosen greyish blue, red, greyish gold and black as her main colours and natural fabrics such as wool, cashmere, silk and cotton to create a special collection that reminds people of moving lava, hard granite and smoggy scenes. The collection is meant to accentuate the strength, gentleness and confidence of contemporary ladies in a modern city.

Hidy Ng will present a collection of 15 pieces titled “Stars Sparkle Tonight” to showcase images of sophisticated ladies at work and in a glamorous Hong Kong environment. Ms Ng uses charcoal grey, medium grey and a range of warm natural colours with mustard yellow to highlight her collection.

The final part of Ms Ng’s show is built around a theme of a church wedding, where newlyweds start a new chapter in life. Three unconventional wedding gowns made from expensive French lace, fur from Northern Europe and silk adorned with shiny beads will be showcased.

Henry Lau’s collection Frozen Beauty will portray the cool beauty of Hong Kong’s Central District and its glass-clad high-rise buildings after dark. Mr Lau’s collection includes mostly party and evening wear in black and a range of dark colours. Shiny accessories on the pieces will depict Hong Kong’s glamorous nightlife.
